Royal Icon Studio Workshops
Using traditional Byzantine techniques, gold leaf, gessoed panels, and mixed mediums, students learn through prayer and an individualized, step-by-step process, how to paint our glorified Christ, Mary and the saints.
Lectures and PowerPoint presentations are included in the workshops. As well as materials necessary such as a board, brushes, paints, colored prototypes, cartoons, and prayers.
Unless a workshop is specifically marked advanced, artistic experience and painting skills are not a prerequisite. Iconographer Veronica Royal will take you through each step in the process.
Veronica has painted icons on commission for 25 years. They can be seen in churches, chapels, EWTN Rome location, and the Vatican. As well as many commissions from private collectors.
Participants in previous icon workshops have found them a deeply enriching experience. Many students come to our workshops time and time again, year after year.
The Royal Icon Studio has been offering workshops since 2010.
